Welcome to the Residence Community Ranking Form!

This is your chance to tell us if you would prefer to live with the Waterloo Residences community, which includes 5 first-year residences, or in one of University College communities – St. Jerome’s, St. Paul’s, and Renison. Please note that this form only allows you to rank your preferred community. You will have the opportunity to indicate your preferred building, room type, and meal plan, where applicable, in mid-June.

Before you start:

We recommend students submit the $500 housing deposit if they are coming to campus for fall and want a two-term contract. The housing deposit is typically non-refundable but if you are no longer able to come to campus for Fall 2020, we will refund your $500 housing deposit. Note that requesting a refund cancels your residence guarantee for two terms and you will not be guaranteed space on campus in the winter or spring.

  • It is important to learn more about what Waterloo Residences and the University College communities (St. Jerome’s, St. Paul’s and Renison) have to offer.
  • To view a previous page, please use your browser's back button.
  • If you are bringing a spouse and/or children to live with you, do not fill out this form. Please contact Waterloo Residences.
This is a 6-step process:
  1. Tell us who you are
  2. Let us know if you would like to live in a Living-Learning Community or Academic Cluster if available for your academic program
  3. Rank the residence communities
  4. Confirm your gender
  5. Learn more about the Accessible Housing process
  6. Submit your $500 deposit by credit card, certified cheque or money order by the deadline of 12:30 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time, June 17, 2020. The housing deposit is typically non-refundable but if you are no longer able to come to campus for Fall 2020, we will refund your $500 housing deposit. Note that requesting a refund cancels your residence guarantee for two terms and you will not be guaranteed space on campus in the winter or spring.

This process is not first-come, first-served. All students who submit their Residence Community Ranking Form and housing deposit by the deadline, are guaranteed a space in one of our residences. Every effort is made to accommodate students in their preferred choice, however, depending on demand, specific preferences cannot always be accommodated and we do not guarantee that you will be placed in your first, second or even third choice. Please be prepared to be assigned to any of our residence communities.
